#3 Pre Stock Market Strategy: Nvida & S&P500 Bullish

Stock are ready to bet on a bullish trend?

Look no further than Nvidia and the S&P 500. With high demand for risky bullish options and Nvidia’s impressive performance, coupled with resilience amid market fluctuations, the outlook remains positive. Positive sentiment towards the broader market, supported by favorable economic data, further strengthens the case for betting on these bullish trends.

S&P 500 chart indicates a bullish!!!

The technical analysis of the S&P 500 chart indicates a bullish pattern, with the index maintaining its upward trajectory. Notably, the chart shows the index consistently making higher highs and higher lows, along with trading above key moving averages such as the 20-day and 50-day moving averages. These technical indicators signal a positive trend in the market, reinforcing the bullish sentiment.

Additionally, fundamental factors contribute to the optimistic outlook for the S&P 500. Positive economic data, robust corporate earnings reports, and favorable market conditions all bolster investor confidence in the underlying fundamentals of the index constituents. As a result, investors are more inclined to buy and hold stocks, thereby driving prices higher.

The main reason for the bullish outlook on the S&P 500 index is its resilience in the face of recent market challenges and the continuation of positive trends. Despite encountering temporary turbulence triggered by negative reactions to the U.S. consumer-price index report, the index swiftly recovered, reminiscent of a previous sharp correction experienced in January. This ability to rebound swiftly suggests underlying strength and resilience within the market.

Nvidia Corporation (NVDA) is experiencing bullish sentiment, driven by significant demand for risky bullish options tied to prominent technology stocks, including Nvidia. This demand is reflected in the high levels of call skew for Nvidia, indicating a surge in demand for riskier out-of-the-money calls relative to at-the-money bullish bets. Despite broader market fluctuations, Nvidia’s shares have remained resilient, trading at $726 around midday Tuesday amidst market declines prompted by higher-than-expected January inflation data. However, heightened demand for bullish options could potentially create challenges for Nvidia’s shares following its upcoming earnings report on February 21, as heavy call skew has historically coincided with market tops. Nonetheless, Nvidia’s robust performance and investor enthusiasm for its prospects continue to underpin its bullish outlook amid broader market uncertainties.

New Strategy: VIX “Spike Peak” Buy Signal

We identify a buy signal in the stock market when the VIX experiences a sharp increase followed by a close at least 3.0 points lower than the spike peak. On February 13, the VIX peaked at 17.94, and on February 14, it closed at 14.38, signaling a buy opportunity.

Action: Purchase 2 SPY March 15 at-the-money calls. We will maintain this position for approximately 22 trading days, aligning with our trading system’s parameters for “spike peak” buy signals. Additionally, we will exit the trade if the VIX subsequently closes above 17.94.

New Strategy: Potential MVB Sell Signal

We introduce a new recommendation for a modified Bollinger Band (mBB) sell signal, replacing the unfilled previous one. The sell signal will be confirmed if the SPX trades at 4,903 or lower.

Action: If the SPX trades at 4,903 or lower, initiate a trade by purchasing 1 SPY Mar (28th) at-the-money put and selling 1 SPY Mar (28th) put with a striking price 25 points lower. This trade aims for the lower -4<SIGMA> Band, and we will exit if the SPX closes above the +4<SIGMA> Band.

New Recommendation: Baker-Hughes (BKR)

The weighted put-call ratio for Baker-Hughes Co. (BKR) has indicated a buy signal, supported by previous accurate put-call ratio signals in BKR over the last year. However, we note some overhead resistance.

Action: If BKR closes above 30, purchase 4 BKR April 19 30 calls. We will maintain this position as long as the weighted put-call ratio remains on a buy signal.

The growing market presents opportunities for investors to capitalize on bullish trends. With strong demand for risky bullish options and continued resilience in leading stocks like Nvidia, coupled with positive sentiment and favorable economic indicators, the outlook for the market remains optimistic. Investors may find potential for growth and profitability by positioning themselves strategically within this upward trend.
